To the family of Alma Sampson: We were so very sorry to hear of Alma's passing.
She was a lovely, funny lady. I have known her all my life and as a child spent many
happy times with her & her family. I was born across the road from their house at my
grandparents' house and she and my mother, Mary Sampson were great friends as well as cousins.
She was very kind with a great sense of humor and always spoke her mind, so you
always knew where you stood with her...and we all loved her. Over the years we lost touch, but whenever my mom, or my sisters and I went to Cape Breton, we always
paid her a visit.
After I got married I took my husband to meet her and spent about an hour with
her. As we were leaving, she whispered to me in French, " He's very nice, but
couldn't you have found one with an easier last name?" The last time I saw her was
during the Acadian festival, and she was in the hall playing Bingo or cards, I can't remember which. I gave her a hug and had a few words, and she just kept on playing!
I'm sure she playing cards or Bingo with the Angels now....and is very happy to be home at last. May God Bless and keep you Alma. You will be missed.
Please accept our deepest sympathy and know that our thoughts and prayers are
with you at this time.
Sincerely,
Anna & Tony Melski
