Thought of her today, shopping and saw this great big red tomato, and remembered her saying how much she loved a tomato sandwich. I remember Mavis in Elementary School as a great teacher and one of the great influences to many of us going through IMDH. She always had a big smile and cared a lot for her students. The last time I saw her was at my dad's funeral and she had a great big hug for me. It was easy to tell that her health was not great but she still had that wonderful smile and positive attitude. So very sad to hear of Mavis' passing. She was the most amazing teacher and perfect for primary as she was always waiting with a smile and a hug and made every student feel special.
