Obituary of Mavis Anne Boudreau
Boudreau, Mavis Anne, 74 – Petit de Grat
It is with deep regret and sadness that we announce the passing of Mavis Anne Boudreau of Petit de Grat, that occurred at the QE II Health Science Centre in Halifax on October 2, 2018 with her loving family by her side. Born August 30, 1944 in Sydney, she was the daughter of the late Claire MacNeil. Mavis was a teacher for 33 years with the Richmond Regional School Board up until her retirement in 1996. She was a member of NSTU Richmond Local, New Horizon’s Seniors Club and an Associate member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 150. She was a very active parishioner at St. Joseph’s Church in Petit de Grat. Mavis was a very kind and loveable person. She would go above and beyond the call of duty helping someone in need, or in many community events that she was involved in. One, special to her heart was the Christmas Service of Remembrance that she dedicated so much of her time and skills to make sure that things were always perfect for the people in the community who had lost their loved ones due to death. She was one of the first volunteers to work with the local funeral home since 2005 in planning and developing their Service of Remembrance. She loved doing crafts, playing cards and all the special events and good times that she and Claude attended on “the strip” where Mavis and Claude lived. Left to mourn her passing is her loving husband Claude of 53 years and several nieces and nephews. Besides her mother, she was predeceased by her Godmother, Cecelia Mombourquette; Godfather Con Mombourquette and grandmother, Jenny MacNeil.
