KYTE, George William, 88, of St. Peter’s, NS It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of George William Kyte, on November 27th, 2023 at the Richmond Villa in St. Peter’s, surrounded by his children. Born June 19, 1935 in St. Peter’s, he was the son of the late George Valentine and Myrtle (Hill) Kyte. He is survived by his daughter Mary Ann Roberts (Dennis), Gananoque, Ontario, sons Val Cameron (Susan Patterson), Debert, John Duncan (Hannah Zhang), Seattle, Washington, and George Andrew (Charlene Landry), Belleville, Ontario; grandchildren Skye, Cameron, Elizabeth, Rory, James, Eilidh, Isobel, William, and Ethan; great grandchild Rowan; sisters, Ann Nolan, Halifax, and Lydia Boyd, Saint John, NB; sister-in-law Theresa Kyte, River Bourgeois and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of 62 years Mary Paula Cameron Kyte; brother Robert, and sister Mary. George had a long and successful career with the Federal Business Development Bank which took the family to many parts of Canada. He and Paula spent their retirement with family and friends in Barra Head. George was active in community groups, a member of the MacAskill Yacht Club in St. Peter’s, Roddie’s Square Dance Society, the Immaculate Conception Church in Barra Head and he sat on the Straight-Richmond Community Health Board for a time. Even in his declining years, Dad demonstrated the quiet, strong grace toward others that we knew throughout our lives with him. Details for a celebration of life, funeral and committal to follow.
